The House of Representatives held a hearing on H.R. 3356, a bill that would amend The Americans with Disabilities Act

The House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on the Constitution held a hearing on the ACCESS Act (H.R. 3356) which would amend the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). H.R. 3356, sponsored by Representative Dan Lungren (R-CA), would require someone who encountered a barrier to a public accommodation, such as a store or restaurant, to give the owner written notice and an opportunity to remove the barrier before beginning a lawsuit against the business owner. The Arc does not support this bill and opposes any attempts to weaken the ADA.
