Senate to hold hearing on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Senator John Kerry (D-MA), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, scheduled a hearing on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) for July 12. The White House submitted a treaty package requesting the advice and consent of the Senate for ratification of the CRPD on May 17. If the committee approves the CRPD, it will need 67 votes to pass in the full Senate. The Arc continues to work with others to educate all Senators about the CRPD and urge its ratification.
