Senate Expected to Work on Combating Autism Act

The HELP Committee is also expected to mark up S. 1094, a three year extension of the Combating Autism Act. The Act provides funding for research and training programs affecting people with autism and other developmental disabilities. This legislation ensures that the programs established under the original law continue for an additional three years, including research, surveillance, awareness, and treatment efforts. These programs will expire in September of this year if Congress does not act.
