Op-ed by Obama Administration staff published

Thomas Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, and Russlynn Ali, Assistant Secretary for the Office of Civil Rights at the Department of Education, wrote an op-ed titled “Schools are failing to keep students safe” addressing harassment and bullying in schools that appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer. The article discusses a recent settlement with the School District of Philadelphia, and other efforts by the government to address pervasive bullying and harassment which disproportionately affect children with disabilities and other groups.
